As the Base Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations across regional and capital city ports. Working closely with the wider QantasLink Airports team, you’ll provide support to achieve key business objectives of safety, punctuality, and service excellence. 

This is a dynamic role that goes beyond day-to-day oversight. You’ll coordinate with third-party suppliers including ground services, ramp personnel, and customer service teams, while managing critical operational elements such as Ground Support Equipment (GSE), IT systems, uniforms, and communications. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to strategic projects, including launching new flight routes and supporting the introduction of new aircraft types. 

You’ll have: 

• Previous experience in airport operations with a strong understanding of above and below wing processes, including ramp operations, baggage handling, and turnaround coordination. 
• Demonstrated ability to manage third-party suppliers, negotiate and maintain contracts, and build strong relationships to influence outcomes and achieve operational excellence. 
• Proven leadership capability to inspire and guide teams across multiple locations, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret safety data, monitor On-Time Performance metrics, and implement improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and customer experience. 
• Resilience and adaptability to navigate complexity in a fast-paced, ever-changing operational environment. 
• Flexibility to travel to various ports both domestically and internationally as required.
